Fantasy Rules

Below you will find a summary of the rules that govern fantasy UFC. If there is anything that is unclear, please be sure to contact your league commissioner, or leave a comment in the comment box at the bottom of the page.

This is a new fantasy model and some of the kinks are still being worked out so please be patient with us as some of the rules may change from time to time.

THE BASICS

•The premise of this league is to build the biggest, baddest gym in MMA. In your role as gym owner, it is your responsibility to attract fighters, manage their contracts, and win belts.

•Earn money when you fighters win, and earn nothing when your fighters lose.

•Money will allow you to extend your fighters and attract free agents. Your gym is only as strong as your current rostered fighters, so it is imperative that your fighters win fights!

•Fighters that have won belts will become much more valuable (and expensive) for your gym, so focus on building unranked fighters into champions.

•Show your fighters that you believe in them by betting other gym owners on the fights. The stakes are high, as you will read about soon.

•Most importantly, watch the fighters fight. Through UFC Fantasy, you will share in their success and their failures, so make sure to root for your squad.

•Each season will run for a full calendar year, ending after the final fight of each year.

•Rankings will be updated prior to awarding a league champion.

•The gym with the highest Fight Score at the end of the year will be crowned league champion.

•This is a dynasty format, so you will keep your roster and funds as you enter into the new year.

•Your fight season will end at the end of the calendar year of any UFC event that ends in a multiple of 25. This means the first fight season will end at the end of the year containing UFC 300.

•Each fight season will begin with a new draft, with gym owners funds being reset to $7,000,000.

ROSTERS

•Rosters will consist of 20 roster spots.

•15 of the roster spots will count towards your gym’s Fight Score.

•Of the 15 roster spots, 11 spots are designated to specific divisions, meaning your gym will need at least 1 fighter representing in each division. 4 of the spots are flex positions, meaning you can have any fighter in that spot, regardless of their division.

•The remaining 5 spots are developmental bench spots. These fighters wont count towards your Fight Score, however they will remain apart of your team so you can develop them until they are contenders.

THE DRAFT

•Gym Owners will draft in a reverse snake format.

•Draft order will be decided at the league level, however a common format is to set the order based on the reverse standings from the previous year.

•All fighters will be signed to a 2 fight contract.

•Fighters may draft as many or as few fighters as they would like.

•Gym Owners are not required to sign a fighter in each division. Gym Owners have complete autonomy over who trains in their gym.

•The Gym owner may not spend more than their $7M budget in the draft, however they must spend at least $4M.

SCORING

•Your fighter will be assessed a fight score based on a number of different factors, including their ranking within their division, P4P ranking, if they are a champion, the division they fight in, and their current win streak.

•The calculation is not made public as to deter Gym Owners from gaming the system.

•The minimum score a fighter can have is 400.

•The maximum score a fighter can have is 2,750.

•Your fighters score will increase as they move up and down the rankings.

•Your gym’s Fight Score will be the sum of your 11 divisional fighters and your 4 flex fighters. Your fight score will also increase every time one of your Fighters win a Fight.

•The gym with the highest team Fight Score at the end of the calendar year will be crowned the league champion.

OWNER ACTIONS

•There are 5 main actions that a gym owner should resolve prior to each UFC event.

           1.Resign Fighters

           2.Sign Free Agents

           3.Place Your Bets

           4.Cut Bad Contracts

           5.Watch the Fights

•Gym owner’s are not required to set their bench,  sign fighters, or resign their fighters. Gym owner’s have full autonomy over their gym.

RESIGN FIGHTERS

•Visit your team page to review your roster’s contract status.

•Only fighter’s with one fight remaining on your contract can be extended.

•Fighters can be extended for a 2-fight or a 3-fight contract.

•When resigning a fighter, you can choose to sign the fighter at their original contract value, or according to their current per fight Salary.

•Be careful, if a fighter on your roster has a fight salary worth twice as much as you are paying them at any point in time, they will hold out. Fighters that are holding out can only be resigned at their current fight salary. Regardless of how many fights your fighter has remaining on their contract, a fighter that is holding out will not fight for you until they are resigned. their fight score will not count towards your total gym fight score. If the fighter is not resigned before their next fight, they will hit free agency.

•Fighter’s are paid the full value of their contract up-front so make sure you have the funds available to keep your roster in tact.

•A fighter that fights their last fight without an extension will be returned to the free agency pool immediately after their fight is completed.

SIGN FREE AGENTS

•Free agents can be extended for a 2-fight or a 3-fight contract.

•Unsigned Fighters that are fighting in the next UFC event will be available to be signed to a 1 fight contract at an extremely discounted rate. These fighters cannot be extended once you sign them to a 1 year contract. Immediately after their fight, they will be returned to the free agent pool.

•The benefit to signing a 1 fight contract with a free agent is that it is a low cost risk that could potentially have a large payout if they win their fight.

•A gym can only have a single fighter signed on a one fight contract for an event.

BETTING SLIPS

•Prior to each UFC event, you will have the option to show your fighter you believe in them by betting on them. These are contract bets AKA betting SLIPS. What this means is that you are essentially betting your fighter.

•Both Gym Owner’s of the fighters competing in an event must agree to the Slips bet in order for it to be effective.

•Upon resolution of the fight, the losing fighter will leave their current gym to join the gym of the winning fighter.

•The contract remains unchanged as a result of the bet. If your fighter has 4 fights leading into their Slips fight, they will use one of their fights remaining on the contract leaving them with 3. If that fighter loses, the winning gym owner will assume the fighters contracts with 3 fights remaining on it.

•Funds will be unaffected as a result of a pink slip bet.

•Fighter must have at least 2 fights remaining on their contract in order to be bet.

•If the winning gym does not have space on their roster for the newly acquired fighter, the gym owner will have the option to cut a contact of one of their current fighters, or let their new fighter hit free agency.

CUTTING CONTRACTS

•When your roster fills up, you may be in a position where you need to make space for either a newly acquired fighter (through a Slips bet), or to add a prospect with a higher upside.

•Gym Owners will have the option to cut contracts as they see fit, however they will not receive any compensation for fights remaining on their fighters contract.

•Because contracts are prepaid at the time of signing, cutting a rostered fighter is essentially flushing your money down the toilet.

RETIRING FIGHTERS

•Fighters that are retiring or leaving the UFC for an indefinite period of time can still be rostered, however their Fight Score will not be eligible to count towards the gym’s total Fight Score.

•A Gym Owner can opt to keep a retired or exiled fighter on their bench in case that fighter returns to the UFC at some point.

•If the gym owner decides to release the fighter to free agency, the gym owner will be paid the amount of their fighters salary multiplied by the number of fights remaining on their contract.

•For example, if Henry Cejudo (per fight salary of $200,000) decides to retire and you have him signed to 3 more fights. You may opt to keep Henry Cejudo on your bench, or release him to free agency for $600,000 (3 fights x $200,000 salary per fight).

FIGHT NIGHT

•During the night of the fight, you can head to the events page to review the results of the current slate of fights.

•If your fighter is competing, they will be compensated based on the below:

  1. •If your fighter wins they will be paid the sum of their salary, their opponents salary, and a $50,000 win bonus.

  2. •If your fighter loses, they will be paid nothing.

  3. •The UFC awarded KO of the night will be awarded a bonus $50,000

  4. •The UFC awarded Submission of the night will be awarded a bonus $50,000

  5. •Both fighters competing in the UFC awarded fight of the night will be awarded a bonus $50,000

•Your fighters fight score will be adjusted after the UFC releases their rankings on their website. Winning will increase their Fight Score, and losing will reduce it.

•You will also win Fight Score if your fighter wins their fight. The Fight Score for each fight is based on a calculation heavily dependant on both fighters current Fight Score at the time of the fight, and the fighters win streaks.

•Your Slips bets will be resolved immediately after your fight.

•A fight ending in a 'No Contest' will not award any Fight Score or win any money. The fighters involved in the No Contest will not lose one of their fights on contract as a result of the NC.

LEAGUE CHAMPION

•After the final event of the year (sometime in the last few weeks of December) the Gym with the highest Fight Score will win the coveted UFCF Championship.

•The winning gym will have their belt proudly displayed in their gym.

•At the end of the last year in the fight season, fighters will have the opportunity to use any remaining funds to upgrade their gym by visiting the STORE. Certain items will be exclusive to owners with championships, or even multiple championships. In order to build the gym of your dreams, you need to earn it by building your legacy.
